Geri And Ferki Odins Wolves

Description

I made this TOL inspired by wolves in mythology, and decided to name these two Geri and Freki.

As always I made this TOL pendant with both 24 and 14 gauge wire. The 14G making the circle and the 24G wrapping the circle and making the tree.

The "leaves" of the tree are a stone called blue-gold stone ( I LOVE this stone!!)and are a very pretty shade of blue-black that glitters in the light. A bright white Full moon hangs in the back, adorning this TOL pendant are two howling wolves. The D hanging from the tree is for my sisters name seeing as this TOL is made for her.

In Norse mythology, Geri and Freki (Old Norse, both meaning "the ravenous" or "greedy one") are two wolves which are said to accompany the God Odin. They are attested in the Poetic Edda, a collection of epic poetry compiled in the 13th century from earlier traditional sources, in the Prose Edda, written in the 13th century by Snorri Sturluson, and in the poetry of skalds. The pair has been compared to similar figures found in Greek, Roman and Vedic mythology, and may also be connected to beliefs surrounding the Germanic "wolf-warrior bands", the Úlfhéðnar.

The Tree of Life symbolizes spiritual growth and wisdom, strength, protection, and connectedness. It is a healthy model that inspires the spirit and encourages hope in all hearts.

These are delicate, wire wrapped pendants that should be handled with care. Some of the stones, glass, or shells used to create the tree can break if handled roughly.
